Monitor websites with PHP Server Monitor

It is not only important for internet entrepreneurs that their own websites are always accessible. The reasons for non-availability can be many and varied: Starting with errors in the website itself (usually resulting in 500 page errors), to errors with the database, errors on the server or problems with the providers, to a website not being available due to overload, many things are possible. From my own experience I know how important it is to be informed as soon as there are problems with a website. With about 30 websites that I am responsible for, it is impossible to keep track of them all. Fortunately, you don't need to. You just need someone, in this case a PHP script, to take over this task fully automatically and send notifications as soon as there are problems.

Notification directly to the mobile phone

Of course, monitoring is only useful if you know that something is not working when you need it. For this reason, I am informed by a push message on my mobile phone. Thanks to Pushover.net, this is also quick and easy.

Free of charge and yet excellent

If you search Google for monitoring tools, you will find numerous and at least as many monitoring tool comparisons. However, these providers all have something in common: they cost money. Especially if there are several pages to be monitored, often not even a little money. Some services can only monitor websites. But I also want to check my mail server, for example.

That's why I decided to use PHP Server Monitor. As the name suggests, it is a PHP programme. However, the requirements are low and, as already mentioned, numerous services such as Pushover. net can be connected.

You should just make sure not to run PHP Server Monitor on a server that you want to monitor. Otherwise, you would not receive a message in the event of a failure. Therefore, I got myself a very small vServer that is only there to run PHP Server Monitor.
